Taccia Nakabayashi Ukiyo-e Series 3 & 4

Taccia has been a long time favorite of ours for the past few years. With cult favorites like Sabimidori, Umemurasaki and Tsuchi.  These inks are created by Taccia and color coordinated to bock print designs of Japanese master artists from the past. The ink colors are currated by Dai Ishizu and Hanae Matsumoto to represent the aesthetic of the blockprint and to blend in with the other colors of the series.

The first release of the Ukiyo-e inks colors Hokusai and Sharaku was back in 2019 followed by version 2, based on print designs from Hiroge and Utamaro in 2020. After a hiatus Taccia is back with two new releases in 2026. with the third installment being based on Kuniyoshi's designs. With darker more oxidated colors there are 8 new colors which will be added to the line-up. Three months later Taccia released the fourth edition of Ukiyo-e inks based once again on designs from Hokusai. Anotehr 8 colors are added with various shades and blend of blue and green with the addition of more vibrant brown and orange colors.

The fourth series was released in May of 2026. Swatches below were made on cream midori paper. Images were edited to look as much as the in person swatches as possible
